Round 1 is complete with no shortage of ups and downs across the leaderboard. After a shaky start, Rory caught fire with 5 birdies over an 8 hole stretch to finish on top at -5, his first time after the first round since 2011. He shares the spot with Sam Burns who had a clean consistent, very well played round.

Patrick Reed started the tournament off with a bang setting the pace getting to -5 through 9, including being only the second player in Masters history to score two eagles in that span, but ended the day at -3. Shayne Lowry had a great hole out eagle on 13 and finished -2. Scottie struggled to convert some late birdies but remains close at -2 as well. Bryson DeChambeau triple bogeyed 11 and finished the day at +4.
Canadian Nick Taylor had a decent round sitting at -1, only 4 strokes back. Fellow Canadians Corey Conners (+3) and Mike Weir (+9) both struggled and would need to both have stellar rounds tomorrow to make the cut.
All in all, another day, another Masters. Who will come out on top?
