Not to repeat myself, but… “RO-RY! RO-RY! RO-RY!” After another crazy series of twists, turns, leader changes, great scores, not so great scores, great shots, bad shots, and even worse shots somehow Rory McIlroy held on to win the 2026 Masters. Now he joins a very small class of 3 previous players (Jack Nicklaus, Nick Faldo, and Tiger Woods) who won this tournament in back-to-back years, the first time since Tiger did in 2001 and 2002.

This being his 18th attempt, it is fantastic to see Rory have such success at the event that seems to have had his number for so long and can only imagine personally, despite the illustrious career that he has had, how much this means to him. Last year the Grand Slam, this year the back-to-back Masters… where to next?
Hats off to the entire field today. Between Scottie Scheffler having a fantastic come-back round only to fall short by 2 strokes, 3 players scoring a -6, and 3 lead changes, the excitement of the day just never stopped – and how can we forget Rory putting it onto the 10th hole on the 18th!?. Justin Rose pulled into the lead after 10 holes and looked like he was going to be unstoppable and seize the moment but a couple of successive bogeys on 11 and 12 put him behind again and never came back.
I don’t know if I’d entirely call this “one for the ages”, but it sure kept us all on our toes and will definitely be the year we remember yet another back-to-back champion from one of the PGAs most prolific players in modern history. Congratulations Rory!
While we do not expect much change, we always caveat the final numbers below in the event of any prize money changes from Augusta. Congrats to Keith Johnson (mmmhmm… eyeroll…) and the remaining 11 entries for their winnings! Crazy that only 3 of the top 12 had Rory as their captain, but eh 🙂
We will send out final FINAL numbers once we get them. Thanks again to the record setting participant list and look forward to this prestigious event next year and hopefully we will see some or even all of you at the Expensive Taste golf tournament this year, July 11th. Rebel Creek. Be there!!
