Glenallachie 15 Year Old

Pronounced Glen-alla-key, they are one of the few remaining independent distilleries led by iconic master distiller Billy Walker. They proudly present the Glenallachie 15 Year old with natural colour, non chill filtered and bottled at 46% abv. (Pictured on left above)

Colour: rich mahogany, surprisingly dark as labelled as natural colour

Nose: waves of heather honey, dark chocolate and figs. Notes of fruit cake, mocha and a wisp of cinnamon

Taste: fig syrup mocha and treacle toffee, followed by dark chocolate, sweet spices fused with ginger and the finish

This expression was a crowd favourite forsure. Lovers of sherry cask matured whisky will be sure to enjoy this expression. Available here in Ontario, currently in stock at the LCBO. Have a look and find out for yourself. Cheers!

GlenAllachie 18

Another new distillery to the club, GlenAllachie 18 did not disappoint. Matured in Oloroso, PX and virgin oak, it sings of barley, raisins and butterscotch. Many naysayers knock GlenAllachie’s single malt range as the distillery focused its production on blends until ownership changed in 2017, but this offering is nothing to turn one’s nose up at. Overall, it has a pleasant, very drinkable body and sweetness and suggests that real thought was put into which casks would be earmarked for single malts. 46% ABV.
